What is DU NCWEB?
The Delhi University has always been reckoned for its beautiful course structure, design, and alignment, and to add to it's beauty, it stands as the most significant urgency and necessity for the institution.
With its magical charm, the university carries the responsibility of catering to every curious student who wants to study. Therefore for institutions like Delhi University, it becomes important to lay down an accommodating environment for women who plan to study but fortune's evil destroys it to the core.
The above-mentioned phrase stands as the chief motto, i.e., the main motive of the Delhi University Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB). It was not before the amendment in the Delhi University Act in 1943 that the then recently established Delhi University (1922) found the very need for the establishment of a functional group of institutions rendered to cater to the needs of women individuals who aspire to be educated but lack the provision of regular class attendance.
These women, who mostly belonged to the group of individuals who either were severely poor and could not afford further education or to fulfill family needs, got engulfed in the vicious loop of doing jobs.
Currently, NCWEB is home to several undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with classes held at centers and the Arts Faculty Complex, North Campus, respectively.
The mere existence of an institution like this brought great delight to the atmosphere and with the facility of taking exams without attending classes, it served as a remarkable change for the women residing in the Nation Capital Region of Delhi.
