Introduction

Here's a list of the top entrance exams after graduation for master's courses and jobs. Some of the below-mentioned entrance exams are conducted at the all-India level (national level), while others are at the state level, or colleges conduct their own entrance exams.

Law Entrance Exam

LSAT India: The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a worldwide-level law entrance examination. The LSAT exam is organized to offer admission into various law colleges and institutes in India and foreign countries.

CLAT: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all-India entrance examination conducted annually for admission to nineteen (19) National Law Universities for their undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

CLAT Exam is taken after Class 12th for admission to integrated undergraduate programs in Law and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws (LL.M) programs conducted by these law universities.

Defence

AFCAT: This is an all-India-level defence recruitment exam to select candidates for the Air Force. AFCAT is held twice a year for the grant of the Short Service Commission in the Flying Branch and the Permanent/Short Service Commission in the Technical and Ground Duty Branches through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT).

UPSC CDS: The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) is another defence recruitment all-India-level entrance exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The exam is held twice a year for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Indian Air Force (IAF) Academy.

Indian Army University Entrance Scheme: Indian Army recruits unmarried Male B.E./B.Tech. Graduates for Grant of Permanent Commission in the Indian Army for University Entry Scheme (Pre-Final year) Course at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun & Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.

Age Limit: 18 to 24 years old as of July 1 of the respective year. The selection process includes a screening test at the respective command headquarters. Candidates must be physically fit according to the prescribed physical standards.

Medical

NEET: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-PG) is an all-India-level entrance exam for graduate students who wish to study postgraduate medical courses (MD/MS) in government or private medical colleges in India. It is conducted by the NATBOARD.

JIPMER PG Medical Entrance Exam: The Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) PG Entrance Exam is conducted for admission to MD and MS courses. This medical entrance exam is conducted once a year.

PGIMER MD, MS Entrance Exam: Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) Courses. Admission to various MD and MS courses conducted at the institute is made twice a year.

Admission to the above courses of the institute is made on merit on an all-India basis by holding an entrance exam by the institute after issuing a countrywide admission notice. The sessions commence in January and July each year. The Institute follows a residency service-cum-training scheme. Candidates admitted to MD/MS Courses are called Junior Residents.

Combined Medical Services Examination: UPSC conducts a computer-based combined medical examination for recruitment to the services and posts of Assistant Medical Officer in railways, Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service, junior scale posts in central health services, etc. For admission to the examination, you should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. examination.

NEET-MDS: NEET-MDS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various postgraduate MDS courses under the Dentists Act, 1948. NEET-MDS is a single-window entrance examination for Dental PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at the state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS courses as per the Dentists Act, 1948.

MBA

Common Admission Test (CAT): The Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) every year. It is an all-India-level entrance exam for admission to the postgraduate and fellow programs in the management courses offered by the IIMs as well as many management institutes all across the country. The CAT percentage differs from college to college.

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT): The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted for admission to all management programs approved by AICTE and it is an all-India-level entrance exam held once a year. CMAT is also conducted by AICTE in foreign countries for NRIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals seeking admission to B-schools in India.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT): The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted by the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) for admissions in management courses at different management colleges all across India.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT): The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) conducts an entrance exam for graduates held by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade for their institutes in New Delhi and Kolkata.

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP): The Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common entrance test for admission to all the institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University.

UPES MET: University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) conducts UPES MET for the admission of candidates in MBA Courses. Candidates interested in studying management at UPES can apply now.

KIITEE: The KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) is the All India Entrance Examination conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT University), Bhubaneswar for admission into various courses of the university.

Government Jobs

Civil Services Examination (CSE): A nationwide competitive examination conducted for graduates by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to civil services in the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

UPSC IES is abbreviated as the civil services recruitment exam that meets the need for technical and managerial functions of the government. The Government of India recruits its civil servants and officials on the basis of merit; the middle management positions in the bureaucracy are buried through competitive exams.

IES officers are selected by the union government based on the recommendations made by the UPSC. A combined three-stage competitive examination (comprising five tests), called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE), is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services.

Indian Economic Service Examination (IES): IES is an administrative civil service examination for graduates with economics or statistics that includes Grade A of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India.

Indian Statistical Service Examination (ISS): ISS is another examination for Statistics/Mathematics/Economics graduates to get recruited as Grade IV officers of the services of Indian Statistics.

Banking Jobs

SBI PO Exams: State Bank of India conducts this exam for the recruitment of Probationary officers (PO). Candidates who graduated from any stream can appear for this exam.

IBPS PO/Management Trainee Exams: IBPS PO CWE is a national-level Bank PO exam conducted by the Institute of Bank Personnel Selection (IBPS) for hiring PO and MT in public sector banks.
