The buildings of the college campus have been classified and protected as heritage sites. The college shifted to its current campus at Sikandra Road in 1938. Till 1950, it was managed by the All India Women's Education Fund Association, after which it got affiliated with the University of Delhi, and honors degree courses were introduced in the college.

Library
The library has grown into a separate building covering 500 sq. meters of area with one and a half-story located on the premises of the college. This supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in the field of Home Science. Having a specialized collection in the area of Home Science and its allied areas, the library pursues a higher value of knowledge, creativity, and wisdom and empowers its users to be connected with literature published/available in the field through its collection and networks.
The library building was renovated with the latest ICT requirements, retaining the ambiance of its heritage structure and making it energy efficient. The Library is fully automated with a Reading cum Conference Hall, Fiber Optic 24×7 connectivity, Wi-fi enabled building, Air Conditioned Conference Hall, Internet workstations with 40 computers, E-Resource Centre, Big Reading Hall, 120 seating capacity, Thesis, and a Dissertation Room.

The Lady Irwin College placement cell works very hard to ensure that its students are placed in important positions with various organizations such as NGOs, Food Industries, Government, Hospitals, and Teaching Institutions both in India and abroad. One thing that all college students search for, before taking their admission in the college, is the infrastructure. And trust me, Lady Irwin College's infra is commendable! Each classroom is equipped with appropriate, comfortable furniture; good ventilation, and adequate light. Most classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors and Wi-Fi. Most departments have a seminar room.
The academic program of the college is enriched by laboratory experience. To engage students in a variety of practical orientation, self-instructional, learner-friendly modes, there are well-equipped hi-tech laboratories. Lady Irwin College Hostel housed in two buildings stands tall and majestic. Made of red brick walls, the whole building narrates a historical story of some old legendary Hilla Faridoon ji Rustamji, who fondly called it “LIC hostel” which certainly makes a bold statement against the lush green landscapes. The hostel is Wi-Fi enabled and the rooms are fully air-conditioned all-purpose common room, ‘Travancore’- the television and entertainment room with LCD facility which plays the role of a party room during festivals and occasions and a study room during examinations. The hostel provides all the students with a safe and comfortable environment and is a Zero Ragging and No-Smoking Zone.
To top it off, let me mention a unique thing as well. Faculty rooms; shared by 2-4 faculty members, are spaces that enable effective student-teacher interaction on a personalized basis. Most faculty rooms are Wi-Fi enabled and provided with appropriate furniture and storage facilities. Student and faculty support facilities include the students’ meeting spaces i.e. Ashiana, hostel common room, college lawns, and amphitheater, where students meet for students’ union meetings, GBM, etc. The college bookshop provides stationery items along with textbooks and other recommended books of the curriculum.

The sprawling lush green lawns in front of the buildings add splendor to the architectural beauty of the red brick buildings. The eye-catching serpentine staircase and spacious galleries in front of rooms characterize the main hostel building. The interiors and layouts of the rooms in the two buildings are in harmony with nature and ensure sunlight and free circulation of air. The students are free to jog and walk the lush green campus. They avidly use the basketball court for jogging, playing, doing group activities, and study sessions.
Nearest Metro Station
College is close to Mandi House Metro Station which is on the blue metro line. It is 800 meters from the Metro Station. You can book a cab or take an auto to reach your destination in 3 minutes. You can also reach there on foot which will take 9 minutes to reach.
Pragati Maidan, Barakhamba Road, and Indraprastha are metro stations which are situated on the Blue Line which are at a distance of 1 km away from the college.
