It seems like yesterday only when we were all giving our board exams and I was wondering to choose the best universities because it matters for my career, and here I am! My favourite is Delhi University, often called DU.

About DU

Delhi University is a dream for many students, and I am glad to be a part of it. We are all almost aware that it is a top university in India with more than 100 colleges. It is famous for its top arts and commerce colleges. The great SRCC, Hindu, or Hansraj. It came into force before independence. Not everyone can be a part of it, as hard work pays off. You need to give your best to be here. Well, where? In the red stone buildings!! It's harsh but true; the buildings are red, but the actual colour of life lies inside them, which is filled with a mixture of emotions from students. For DU students, it's not only a college; it's a vibe, a life, or a dream come true.

About Lakshmibai College

It makes you happier when you get a college that is worth living for. I am glad and proud to be a part of Lakshmibai College at Delhi University. It is a part of the North Campus, the best part of the DU campus. The North Campus is just wow because of its highest placements, safe environment, and top colleges. It's a popular college among the girls. Well, we are all aware of the incomparable and selfless contribution of Rani Lakshmi Bai. She is ideal for all girls. We all know she is the Rani of Jhansi, and her teachings and sacrifices are preserved in the soul of Lakshmibai College. We have all learned to be fearless. The college aims to teach every girl her strengths and rights. It proves that everyone is a unique version of themselves. A large statue of Rani Lakshmi Bai, along with our Indian tricolour flag, is placed in the centre of the lawn, with greenery on four corners. Also, her large art piece, along with those of other freedom fighters, is engraved on the wall.

Courses Offered

Lakshmibai College has always been the best option for BA students. It has specialised in BA Hons in various combinations, from BA home science to BA Punjabi.

Apart from the arts stream, the college offers commerce programs, including B.com. The teachers are very helpful and supportive. They are always ready to serve their students. They encourage involvement in various activities and lectures. ECA, i.e., extracurricular activities period, is for students to showcase their talents.

Library

The library includes various resources and a peaceful environment, including three separate reading rooms with a supervisor, sir, and ma'am. They're AC rooms with pin-drop silence. E-books are also available. It takes less than a minute to search for a book. The old myths of Bhagavad Gita and Mahabharata are also preserved in both Hindi and English. The old and latest versions of all books help to keep up with the syllabus. Students who are preparing for CA, CS, CS, MBA and UPSC can also find relevant books from their syllabus in the library.

Placement Opportunities

Lakshmibai College offers a wide variety of internship opportunities and a well-built placement cell that provides students placement in top companies including Chegg, KPMG, Yesbank, and many more. The average package is Rs. 4 lakh. It has been ranked 39th in the arts category.

College societies

Societies are a unique part because we never experienced being a part of any society as it doesn't take place in school. There are a lot of societies at Lakshmibai College, including the Commerce Society, the Cie Cell, the History Society, and so on. Each society is made up of 50–70 students from all semesters and courses.

The head is the president, followed by the sub-president, secretary, treasurer, group heads, and members. It's fun to be part of such societies, as it helps build contacts, learn new approaches, and sometimes get out of boring lectures. Every society deals with aspects such as event management, public relations, social media handling, graphics, or content.

Sports activities

A large sports field is divided into opportunities to learn and explore different sports. Kabadi, khokho, basketball, chess, and everything else you want. NCC practice also takes place, followed by NSS social services. Our girls are champions in every field.

Ya, it's funny, but we have a species of animal and bird inside the college campus. Students find rabbits, peacocks, ducks, and squirrels. It also has an eco-park, gym, statue lawn, sports ground, dance platform, auditorium, girls' common room, and lecture theatre.

A temple of Lord Hanuman is built inside the college. We first pray and then go to the class. For us, it's quite positive. It is surrounded by delicious food stalls outside the college. The college canteen and food van also provide students with tasty food in different varieties on alternative days. Ice cream in the summer and tea during the winter are the best.

Vibe Check At Lakshmibai College

Everyone's favourite space in college. Lakshmibai College has a peaceful place that we call Go-cool. It teaches us to be cool, and it is beautiful, surrounded by greenery, our little duckling family, and stools made from waste material. This is the whole college's favourite place. Whenever there is a free lecture, everyone prefers to go there. It's quite clear how much fun we had in Go-Cool.

How To Reach The Nearest Metro Station?

Students find it convenient to reach college because of the metro. The nearest metro station is Shastri Nagar metro station. Rickshaws are always available outside the college gate for pick-up and drop-off facilities.

It takes only ten minutes to reach the college from the metro station. The exact location is Ashok Vihar, phase 3. Buses are available outside gate no. 3. There are 3 gates, but the most preferable is Gate No. 1, where entry is allowed. The only thing required is your garland of honour—our i-cards.

Places To Hangout Near Lakshmibai College

There are a lot of opportunities to explore nearer to college. The spiritual places include temples and Gurudwara Nanak Piao. Friends can also plan gatherings in cafes in Kamla Nagar and Deep Market. Mr Crust and Masters are must-try cafes. Momo lovers can have Momo Lala stalls and Sudama ki chai on the North Campus. It's good sometimes to plan gatherings and visit cafes or stalls during a half-hour break or after college. You can enjoy the facilities of Cluster College and attend various festivals and events. Recently, Lakshmibai College had a festival over the G20 presidency.

Conclusion

After becoming a part of an institution, it matters to us how we utilise our golden days. Some preferred a tight study schedule, while others enjoyed it wholeheartedly. It should be remembered that these days won't come back again.
