Saarang'24: The Annual Fest of Mata Sundri College for Women!
College Fest is the time to celebrate college life. College provides us with a lot of exposure and fantasy. Just imagine you are told that a famous and handsome singer is coming to your college for a concert. How would you react? You will say “ohh my god,” you are not going to miss it at all. With the same enthusiasm Mata Sundri College for Women of Delhi University is thrilled to celebrate its annual fest i.e. Saarang’24.
About Mata Sundri College for Women
Mata Sundri College for Women is an institution that strives to achieve excellence in higher education and women empowerment. A constituent college of the University of Delhi, the college was founded on 17 July 1967 by the Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Their mission is to provide quality education to students that not only nurtures individual talents but also fosters a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork.
Mata Sundri College for Women is named after Mata Sundri Ji, the consort of the Tenth Guru, GURU GOBIND SINGH ji with the motto, “Truth is the highest of all virtues but true living is higher still”.
It is located on the North campus and was ranked 76 in India today's ranking of colleges.
About Saarang'24
The annual fest of Mata Sundri College has been named Saarang with the tagline “Roots and Revival: Embracing the Future.” This time with more fun, masti and dance we are here to mark the start.

Entry Details
Outside/other Du college students are allowed to take part in various events and competitions. Entry is not restricted during the competitions. However, on the second day in the Grand finale only students of MSCW are allowed. Other students will not get entry as per general rules of the fest.
KHWABEEDA
Venue: Mata sahib Kaur auditorium. Time: 9:30 A.M.
RULES:
1.Maximum time limit: 8+2 mins.
2.Team limit: 25 members.
3. Teams should carry their own props.
4. All teams must carry a synopsis of the play and a copy of the team list.
5. Play should be either in Hindi or bilingual medium should be used (Hindi and English).
Prizes :
1st prize : rs6500 + trophy. 2nd prize: rs5100 + trophy
3rd prize : rs4100+ trophy. Best Direction: rs1500 + trophy

Guru Nanak Paper Reading
Venue: Babaji’s room. Time: 10:30 A.M.
RULES:
- Maximum two participants from each college.
2. Language- Hindi/English/Punjabi and Urdu.
3. Time Limit: 5-7 minutes.

Mehfil-E- Ghazal

4. The host college will provide a Tabla player and Tanpura.
5. B.A. (Hons.) Music students are not allowed.
6. One entry from each college for classical music.

Sur Sarita Folk/ Sufi

RULES:
- Film compositions are not allowed.
2. Only non-recorded Folk/Sufi/Geet/Ghazal songs will be entertained.
3. Time-Limit: 3-4 minutes.
4. Any two instruments are allowed.
5. The host college will provide tabla.
6. One entry from each college for Light Music.
7. B.A. (Hons.) Music students are not allowed.

Indian Classical Dance

RULES:

2. Film-based dances are not allowed.
3. Maximum two individual participants are allowed.
4. Participants should bring their own recorded music/instruments/musicians if required.

Folk Dance Competition
Venue: Mata Sahib Kaur auditorium. Time: 10:30 A.M.
RULES:
- Film-based folk dances are not allowed.
2. Use of dangerous props, colors, flowers, etc prohibited.
3. One team (8-15 members) only from each college. The team must bring their recorded music/ instruments/ musicians/ essential materials and forward their music track to Mscbhangra123@gmail.com.
4. Judgment will be based on synchronization, expressions, costumes, and overall performance.
5. Time limit: 8-10 minutes, including narration.
6. Five Minutes will be given for stage setup.

Venue: in front of auditorium. Time: 9:30 A.M.
RULES:
- Maximum of 25 members per team.
2. Maximum time limit- 20 minutes (Empty stage to Empty stage).
3. No change in slots will be entertained.
4. Usage of fire, water, or any potentially harmful substances is strictly prohibited.
5. Teams should bring their props and musical instruments.
6. Only live music is allowed.
7. The performance should be in Hindi (short snippets of any other language are allowed).

RULES:
- Only individual participation is allowed.
2. There are two rounds: a. Prelims ( MCQ-Based ) b. Main ( C++ Coding )
3. This event is based on programming using C++.
4. Questions will be given on the spot.
5. Duration of the event is 2 hours 30 mins.
6. Participants are required to bring their college identity cards.
7. Participants will be disqualified for disobeying the rules or using any unfair means (e.g. using Mobile phones, Internet, etc).
8. The decision of the board of judges is final.

Best-Out-Of-Waste Competition
Venue: Room no 129. Time: 9:30 A.M.
RULES:
- Maximum number of participants in a team is limited to 2.Participants will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes to show their creativity and 5 minutes to talk about the same.
2. The required waste material and stationery like scissors, thread etc should be brought by the participants.
3. No ready or semi-finished model or matter will be accepted. Participants will be judged on creativity, utilization of resources, artistic composition, eco-friendly rating, utility of the product and overall presentation.
4. No mobile or internet means will be allowed at the time of the competition.
5. The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.

RULES:
- A team of two members from one college.
2. Rounds will be explained on the spot.
3. Prizes for winners and audience participation.
4. Members of the QuizUp Society will be the judges.
5. Quiz master's decision will be final.
Prizes:

Western Dance
Venue: Mata Sahib Kaur auditorium. Time: 9:30 A.M.
RULES:
- Performance time limit 7-10 minutes.
2. Team limit is between 5-25 members. Use of fire, colors, smoke, flowers or any other dangerous props is strictly prohibited.
3. Teams are requested to carry their music edits in a Pen Drive on the day of the event and mail their tracks to kayradancesoc2324@gmail.com a day before the event.
4. Names of the non-performing members including the choreographer accompanying the team must be mentioned beforehand.
5. Judgment will be based on synchronization, costumes, and expressions.

Rangoli Competition
Venue: B-block lobby. Time: 9:30 A.M.
RULES:
- The participants must strictly adhere to the timing. Theme of the competition is restricted to “वि कसि त भा रत एक संकसं ल्प” – “Developed India is a resolution”.
2. It is mandatory for participants to register. Limited registrations, on a first come first serve basis.
3. Only two participants from one college can participate. Colors and other materials should be eco-friendly. Participants have to bring their own material (rangoli colors, chalk, etc) .
4. Participants cannot use grains, millets, and any kind of food to make rangoli. Disobeying the rules in any way will not be acceptable. Anyone doing so will be barred from participating in the competition.
5. The participants will be given 1 hr to make rangoli.
6. Last minute changes in the above rules, if necessary, can be made. The decision of the jury shall remain the final and no correspondence will be entertained.

Mehendi Competition
Venue: B-block lobby. Time: 9:30 A.M.
RULES:
