Let's get the drums rolling and the music playing as we get ready for Symphony'24 – the ultimate boundary-breaking festival presented by none other than Janki Devi Memorial College.

Promising exciting events, exquisite performances and a fun time, Symphony'24 presents its Theme: 'Uday: Awaken the light within'. It's not your average party; it's where you discover hidden talents and unleash your creativity.

On Day 1 and Day 2 of Symphony, all college students with their valid Identification Proofs are allowed to attend the fest, so fasten your seatbelts to drive straight into the campus!

What's the Venue?

The fest is set to be held on the premises of Janki Devi Memorial College near Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Marg, Old Rajinder Nagar, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi, 110060.

The nearest metro station to Janaki Devi Memorial College is the Karol Bagh metro station (Blue Line). To reach the college from there, you can use gate number 7 to exit the metro station.

Janki Devi Memorial College is home to a diverse range of fascinating societies that offer a unique experience to its members. These societies are getting ready for their annual fest, which promises to be an exciting and memorable event.

They are bursting with energy and fun, it's a vibe you don't wanna miss out on!

Unleashing the light within with the symphony of societies.

1. Bardolators: The Shakespeare Society

The society aims to introduce students to different theatre styles and explore the relevance of Shakespeare's plays in modern times. It is hosting the ‘BARDORATORY 2024’ on 1st February 2024 at 12 PM.

2. The Economics Department

The Economics Department of Janki Devi Memorial College presents ‘Anjali 2024’ - the Mehendi and Rangoli Competition.

Rules for ‘Anjali 2024’
Time limit for Rangoli and Mehendi - 1 hour
Topic will be given on the spot.
Participants have to carry all the materials required for Rangoli and Mehendi.
No cereals are to be used for Rangoli.

3. National Service Scheme

It's an awesome program that helps students develop their personality through community service. NSS has some really cool objectives, like identifying and addressing community needs, developing social commitment, applying education to solve problems, developing group living skills, mobilizing community participation and strengthening leadership qualities.

NSS presents ‘Open Mic Competition’ on 31st January 2024 at 11:30 AM.

4. InQuizition

Every year, InQuizition organises inter-college and intra-departmental quizzes for students and faculty members. Currently, this society is recognised as "The Quiz Cell".

InQuizition presents Q N A - their impromptu quiz. Don’t forget to join the party!

5. Parag

It is organizing ‘Sahityaki’: an inter-college Hindi quiz competition. It will be held on 31st January at 12:30 PM.

Venue - Room No. 14

First Prize - ₹ 3,500
Second Prize - ₹ 3,000
Third Prize - ₹ 2,500
Rules for ‘Sahityaki’
This competition is open to all colleges
Only two teams from every college is allowed to participate
Each team is allowed a maximum of two participants
Only graduate level students can participate
The decision of the judges will be final

6. Department of Sanskrit

The Department of Sanskrit is organizing two competitions:-

Samrishti - Sanskrit Quiz

Time - 1 PM

Samsrishti - Sanskrit Verse Recitation

7.    Radian-ce : The Mathematics Department

Short Film Competition

“ The beauty of delivering the message creatively and simply”

Rules:

The maximum number of allowed participants in a team is two.
Participating teams are required to mail their short film two days prior to the competition.
Short film should not exceed 2.5 minutes
Treasure Hunt

“A treasure that’s hidden everywhere just a need to explore”

Rules:

A team of 2-3 participants can participate.
Selection will be on first come first serve basis.
The decision of organising team will be final.
The competition will consist of 3 rounds.

8.   Nandita Rajguru Intercollege Competition

The competition will take place on 1st February 2024 at 12:30 PM.

Venue - Seminar Room

Rules:

Nandita Rajguru Memorial Debate is a team event
Two members per team, one will speak for and the other against the motion
Each speaker will be allotted 2+1 minutes
The order of speakers will be decided by the slot
The order of speakers will be decided by a draw of lots
The debate can either be in English or Hindi
Only 20 teams are allowed on first come first serve basis

9.  Impreneurs

The Entrepreneurship Cell of JDMC is running a fun contest where you get to rebrand your favourite brand and have a chance to win exciting cash prizes.

Sounds like a lot of fun, right? So, why not give it a try and put your creative skills to the test?

10. Jhankaar - the Folk Dance Society

It presents JHANKAAR’24 - Group Folk Dance Competition.

11. Kalakriti Art Club

It is back with an amazing event - SHUFFLES AND STROKES, a card deck painting competition. It will take place on 2nd February 2024 at 11 AM.

12. Nritya - The Western Dance Society

The Western Dance Society presents Footloose ’24. Get ready to hit the stage with a bang as Nritya takes you there!

It’s exciting to get you on stage and see you dance to your heart's wishes! Can't wait to see you there!

13.  NUPUR - The Indian Classical Dance Society

Aradhi - The Solo Inter-College Indian Classical Dance Competition is scheduled to take place on February 2nd, 2024.

14.  Euphonie - The Western Music Society

Western Music Competition will be held in two categories: Acapella and Solo.

It will take place on 2nd February 2024 at 10:30 AM.

15. Sarang - The Indian Music Club

Sarang was established by the music department with the aim of engaging musically talented students from various disciplines and training them to express their musical abilities.

The Indian Music Club of JDMC is back with two events - Saransanjali and Ragini.

16. Anubhuti - The Dramatics Club

The Street Play Competition MUNADI’24 is the most-awaited event of SYMPHONY. It will be held on 31st January 2024 from 12 PM onwards.

17. Abhivyakti - Hindi Debating Society

Abhivyakti ( Hindi Debating Society ), Janki Devi Memorial College presents the Inter-College Debate Competition under the annual cultural fest, Symphony’24.

Topic: Spirituality is the only solution to environmental protection

It will take place on 31st January 2024 at 11:30 AM.
