The mesmerizing and historic Mata Sundri College for women is named after Mata Sundri Ji, Ram Sarana, a Punjabi Soni Kumarāv Khatri of Bijwara Soni, the wife of the tenth Sikh guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji. The college has a gurudwara at the centre due to this. The Mata Sundri gurudwara is believed to have been the home of Mata Sundri Ji for over 40 years.

Yet this is not just a spiritual and historic college. Regardless of its Sikh spirituality the college welcomes everyone and is quite inclusive. The college though being a part of off campus comes under the jurisdiction of the North campus since it lies very close to the North campus. The college offers 11 Major Disciplines which include Commerce, Economics, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Punjabi, Psychological Science and Sanskrit.

Under the three-year undergraduate programme, the college offers seventeen different courses. In Humanities B.A (Programme) and B. A (Honours) are offered. B. A (Honours) course is offered in English, Hindi, History, Punjabi, Psychology, philosophy, Political Science and Sanskrit. B.
